Entrevista con Winter Heart

A: How did you start the band? And how did you come up with the name?

A: ¿Cómo empezasteis con el grupo? ¿Y cómo se os ocurrió el nombre?

WH: We started the band after a long drive home from a concert one night. Myself (Mikey) and James were talking and we discussed what it would be like if we were the band people were going to see. The idea just became real then. The band name was something I had for years before hand I can't even remember where I came up with it or why.

WH: Empezamos después de un largo paseo en coche por la noche volviendo de un concierto. James y yo (Mikey) estábamos hablando y discutimos sobre cómo sería si tuviéramos un grupo que la gente fuera a ver. La idea se hizo realidad en ese mismo momento. El nombre del grupo fue algo que tenía en mente desde hace unos años y ni si quiera puedo recordar dónde se me ocurrió o por qué.

A: How do you feel about coming from a small village in Ireland and being relatively new in the music industry? Are other Irish bands or singer supporting your music or are you trying to grow on your own?

A: ¿Cómo os sentís al venir de un pequeño pueblo de Irlanda y ser relativamente nuevos en la industria de la música? ¿Hay otras bandas irlandesas o cantantes apoyando vuestra música o intentáis crecer solos? 

WH: The support we've gotten so far from both the people in our town and elsewhere has been amazing. Our songs are very honest and personal so to see everyone connect with them the way they have is fantastic. We are doing everything ourselves.

WH: El apoyo que hemos conseguido hasta ahora de la gente de nuestra ciudad y de todas partes ha sido increíble. Nuestras canciones son honestas y personales así que ver cómo la gente conecta con ellas de la forma que lo hacen es fantástico. Estamos haciendo todo nosotros. 

A: You’ve got just a song out, how has been the reaction to it? Can we expect more music in the near future?

A: Solo tenéis un single, ¿Cómo ha sido la reacción del público? ¿Podemos esperar más música en un futuro cercano?

WH: The reaction was completely overwhelming and continues to be. We thought If maybe a handful of people listen to it and downloaded it it would be a success to us. We just got 5,000 downloads people are talking about getting tattoos of our lyrics it's all been crazy but heartwarming. Our next song is out in about 3/4 weeks and it's sounding Fantastic we are so excited for people to hear it. I think people have really connected with our songs and band because there isn't many of any bands like us in Ireland. People refer to us as the Irish Youmeatsix/young guns .. and that's ok by us.

WH: La reacción ha sido totalmente abrumadora y continúa siéndolo. Pensamos que si tal vez un puñado de personas lo escuchaban y lo descargaban sería un éxito para nosotros. Actualmente tenemos 5.000 descargas y la gente habla de tatuarse nuestras canciones; todo ha sido una locura, pero reconfortante. Nuestra próxima canción saldrá en unas tres o cuatro semanas y está sonando genial, estamos impacientes de que la escuchéis. Creo que la gente realmente se siente identificada con nuestras canciones y nuestro grupo porque no hay muchos grupos como nosotros en Irlanda. La gente se refiere a nosotros como los Youmeatsix/Young Guns irlandeses … y nos parece genial.
