Hoy vengo con una entrevista exclusiva que me concedió el guitarrista Kamren Alexander de la banda norteamericana, Ceasefire. Tal vez no los conozcáis ya que en España no son muy conocidos pero en su país, específicamente en Los Angeles están continuamente creciendo y apoyados por sus fieles fans. Está formado por los hermanos Ray Alexander (cantante) y Kamren Alexander (guitarrista), y Anthony Hainsworth (batería).
Yo de casualidad los conocí gracias a las redes sociales y creedme son geniales, tanto su música como ellos personalmente. Antes de mostraros la pequeña entrevista he decidido contaros un poco más sobre ellos.
Esta banda se formó en 2011 en
Orange Country aunque actualmente se
encuentra en Los Angeles (California). En 2013 entraron en el estudio para grabar su primer EP titulado “In
the Dead of Night” con el productor ganador de un Grammy, Josh
Mosser.
Ceasefire ha sido nominado en varias ocasiones, "Alternative Album of the Year" (2014 IMEA Awards) y “Best Live Band” (2012 OC Music Awards).

K - This song is about liberation, it's about being spontaneous. Taking chances and going on a journey to embrace the unknown. It has a high tempo dance alternative rock feel. It's a put the top down and go on road trip type of song.

S - We're excited to listen to the single! But first of all, where does the name "Ceasefire" come from?.

K - We all know that music brings people together. Our goal as a band is to embrace peace and love, a message of hope and inspiration. We felt the band name Ceasefire is a call to action of bringing people together to enjoy a common thread. Doesn't matter what your style is, what you look like or where your from. It's a place where everyone can come to enjoy music and art and expression. We call our friends and fans the CeasefireMilitia. We have the most amazing caring loving and compassionate fans,we are like one big happy family. Our goal is to spread the Ceasefire Militia globally to embrace peace and love and friendship through music.

S - Totally agree. I see all the support from your fans and that is something incredible! but how would you describe yourselves as a band for the ones who don't know you yet?. K - As people we are literally family, singer Ray Alexander is my brother and Anthony Hainsworth is my best friend. Our music is inspired by bands like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, U2, modern dance music. Our live show is high energy, electrifying. We like to get all our fans engaged and connected through the set. We handout Ceasefire glow sticks for each and every person in the audience. It's awesome way to make everyone a part of the show and be interactive with our fans.

S - I've never been to any of your concerts yet but it seems you put a lot of energy on the stage so I really want to go to one, take a Ceasefire glowstick and sing my heart out to every song.
But getting
back to the interview...What age did you find out that you wanted to be a
musician? And when did you start to play the guitar?.
Nunca he estado en algún concierto vuestro aún pero veo como ponéis mucha energía encima del escenario y realmente quiero ir a uno, coger una barra luminosa de Ceasefire y cantar cada canción a pleno pulmón.
Pero volviendo a la entrevista... ¿A qué edad descubriste que querías ser músico?, y ¿cuándo empezaste a tocar la guitarra?.
K- I knew I wanted to be a professional musician when I started high school.
When Ray Alexander and I were kids we were interested in rock 'n' roll music and how it made us feel. Are curiosity grew and we practiced and practiced and eventually formed many little bands before Ceasefire. I started playing the guitar when I was about 13 years old.
S - Does playing with your brother feel weird? Or not?.
¿Y es raro tocar con tu hermano? ¿o no?
K - No not at all. We are so connected. Making music with Ray is amazing. We have so much history and have grown as musicians and song writers. It's great when we progress and explore new grounds.
No, en absoluto. Estamos muy conectados. Hacer música con Ray es increíble. Tenemos tanta historia y hemos crecido como músicos y compositores. Es genial cuando progresamos y exploramos nuevos terrenos.

S - That's beautiful!. Let me ask you one last question to finish the interview. Which has been the highlight of your musical career while being in the band so far?

K - I would say hands down the growth and connection to our fans. Seeing the Ceasefire Militia grow and see them all share the love of our music together and the friendship they are building with in is amazing and inspiring.
Yo diría que sin duda el crecimiento y la conexión con nuestros fans. Al ver Ceasefire Militia crecer y ver a todos ellos compartir el amor de nuestra música juntos y la amistad que están construyendo es increíble e inspirador.
